General Khodaidad Khodaidad said the majority of drugs are stockpiled in two provinces controlled by troops from the US, the UK, and Canada, IRNA reported on Saturday.
He went on to say that NATO forces are taxing the production of opium in the regions under their control.
Afghanistan is the world's biggest supplier of opium.
Drug production in the Central Asian country has increased dramatically since the US-led invasion eight years ago.
A recent report by the United Nations states that Afghan opium is having a devastating impact on the world, killing thousands in consumer countries.
Meanwhile, The New York Times reported on Wednesday that Ahmad Wali Karzai, a brother of the Afghan president, is involved in the opium trade, meets with Tribal leaders, and is also a CIA operative.
The opium trade is the major source of NATO financing. The drugs is shifted towards the military base in Kosovo.
Pro-Taliban and al-Qaeda-linked militants have reportedly been outfitted with state-of-the-art American arms and other weaponry made in the US-allied states, including Israel, Germany and India.
The pro-Taliban militants in Pakistan were equipped with expensive and expertly-crafted firearms made by the German arms manufacturer Blazer, Deutsche Welle reported on Wednesday.
The rifles are priced at USD 2,960 (EUR 2,000) a piece and are characterized with heavy-duty outer parts and 'lifelong' durability. The weapons are well suited for operational purposes in mountainous areas such as the tribal Pakistani region of South Waziristan, which borders Afghanistan.
The northwestern militant-infested area has for long troubled the Pakistani military. Islamabad is currently engaged in full-scale military operations against the gunmen.
The German broadcaster named the other armaments in militant possession as the German-made "Walther P1 handguns, automatic weapons made by another German defense manufacturer Heckler & Koch (H&K), handguns build at the Austrian weapon producer the Glock, the American M249 machine guns and the Israeli-made Uzi submachine guns." Some of the weapons are worth USD 2,072 (EUR 1,400).
The report added that militant gangs were training with German G3 assault rifles. The latest version of the gun is valued for its durability and pinpoint precision.
Questions remain as to how the al-Qaeda-linked terrorists acquired the weapons.
Heckler & Koch (H&K) is rated as one of the defense industry's 'Big Five' and a mainstay trading partner to the German military. Last year, the company, the volume of whose exports are yet to be specified, sold USD 267 million ( EUR 181 million) worth of weapons.
The company as well produces weapons for the United Kingdom, Norway and Greece and has been contracted to equip the French army. The company has survived the global economic crisis almost unharmed.
Every 14 minutes a person reportedly dies by a H&K-made weapon.
According to a new report presented to the United Nations Security Council, Israeli diamond traders buy and sell diamonds from the war-torn Ivory Coast of western Africa, getting diamonds at a cheaper price because they are obtained through brutal force.
Israel's Diamond Controller Shmuel Morderchai denied the report, saying that Israel has never done business in the Ivory Coast.
Israeli diamond traders have in the past come under fire for their dealings with the South African Apartheid regime, long after the rest of the world had condemned and isolated South Africa for its racist practices against the African majority.
The new report on diamond trading in the Ivory Coast was presented this week to the UN Security Council as part of an investigation on international compliance with sanctions imposed four years ago against the diamond trade in that region.
The report called on the Israeli government to 'investigate fully the possible involvement of Israeli nationals and companies in the illegal export of Ivorian rough diamonds'.
Other nations named in the report as possibly being out of compliance with the sanctions were Guinea, Liberia, Lebanon and the United Arab Emirates.
Israeli officials told reporters that they may lodge a formal complaint during an upcoming meeting on the diamond trade in Namibia November 2 - 5.

The German government should immediately launch a credible, transparent investigation into a 4 September airstrike in Kunduz, Afghanistan, that killed scores of people, many of them civilians, Amnesty International said on Thursday.
The German military said on Thursday that NATO’s investigation suggested the airstrike, which targeted two fuel tanker trucks that had been hijacked by Taleban fighters five hours earlier, was appropriate even though it led to civilian casualties.
Amnesty international’s investigation into the Kunduz incident suggests that the laws of war may have been violated during the airstrike.
"An urgent and transparent investigation needs to be launched by the German government into what happened in Kunduz. NATO, and the German government, must show accountability for the loss of civilian life and prove that it has the will and mechanism in place to investigate civilian casualties," said Sam Zarifi, director of mnesty International’s Asia-Pacific programme.
According to the German military, NATO’s investigation could not verify the exact number of casualties. Village elders from the area told Amnesty International in Kunduz that 142 people had been killed in the attack, of which at least 83 were civilians. The Taleban killed one of the tanker drivers during the hijacking, according to Afghan security officials.
The German Ministry of Defence stated that it would analyze the NATO report and consider further action as necessary.
Amnesty International gathered eyewitness testimonies from survivors of the attack, as well as interviews with Mohammed Razaq Yaqoobi, the local chief of police, UN officials, and the Afghanistan Independent Human Rights Commission.
"The Taleban again disregarded the lives of Afghan civilians by putting them in the line of fire," Sam Zarifi said. "But that doesn’t absolve NATO from taking the utmost feasible precautions to ensure that it minimizes harm to civilians."
The Taleban control many of the villages in the area surrounding the airstrike. Residents of nearby Taleban-controlled village, AmerKhiel, were invited to take away fuel from the tankers after the tankers were stuck while crossing the Kunduz river.
The organisation’s research shows that NATO did not provide civilians in the area with effective warning that they were going to launch an attack, endangering the lives of people in the area.
In some circumstances, NATO aircraft in Afghanistan fly close to targets or shoot warning rounds to get civilians away from a potential target. Eyewitnesses to the attack told Amnesty International that they did not see NATO aircraft engage in any warning action prior to the Kunduz airstrike.
A local villager Omera Khan told Amnesty International that "The Germans could have responded differently to the hijacking and prevented the civilian casualties. People were there to take the free fuel offered by the Taleban and at the time of the attack there was no warning."
"NATO has been trying to improve the protection of civilians with its recently issued Tactical Directive, and we welcome this, but it still has not provided a credible accountability mechanism for redress." said Sam Zarifi. "Immediately, NATO should publicize its report."
In 2009 Afghanistan has suffered the highest level of civilian casualties since the fall of the Taleban in 2002. "All sides to the conflict must take every possible precaution to spare civilian lives. Civilians must not be made to pay the price for unlawful conduct on either side. All violations of international human rights and humanitarian law must be promptly, thoroughly and independently investigated and those responsible for them must be bought to justice, " said Sam Zarifi.

Iran says EU firms in talks to bring its gas to Nabucco

TEHRAN — An Iranian official said on Saturday that European firms are in talks for Iran to join the EU's flagship Nabucco gas pipeline project, which aims to reduce the bloc's reliance on Russia, Mehr news agency reported.
"At the moment some European companies have started unofficial talks for Iran to join this pipeline," Mehr quoted Reza Kasaizadeh, managing director of National Iranian Gas Exports Company, as saying.
He gave no details.
The European Union is planning to build the 3,300-kilometre (2,050-mile) Nabucco pipeline to transport gas from the Middle East and Central Asia to its energy-hungry consumers in Europe while bypassing Russia.
Critics have said that if the Nabucco project is to be profitable it will definitely need gas from Iran, which holds the world's second largest gas reserves but is also subject to international sanctions over its sensitive nuclear programme.
Even though importing gas to cover domestic needs, Iran has repeatedly insisted that the Nabucco plan will not succeed without its vast, untapped gas reserves.
Iran imports 25 million cubic meters (883 million cubic feet) a day of gas from Turkmenistan and plans to increase it by eight million cm (282.5 million cubic feet) in the coming months.
It exports around the same amount to Turkey.
The nation of 70 million people on has faced gas shortages due to high consumption, especially in winter. The high demand has led Iran to cut gas supply to Turkey several times in the past.

Another man , who had also been given many of the luxuries of this world asked him, "What are you praising and thanking Allah for?" The man said, "I am praising and thanking Allah for blessings which, if others asked me to give them to them in return for all that they have, I would never give them up." "What can they be?" asked the second man. "Can't you see?" asked the first man. "I have my eyesight, my tongue, my hands, my feet."
Mukhallad ibn al-Husayn said: "The definition of gratitude is abstaining from wrong action." Abu Hazim said: "Every blessing that does not bring you closer to Allah is a disaster." Sulayman said "Remembering His Blessings makes one love Allah."
Hammad ibn Ziyad narrated that Layth ibn Abi Burdah said: "I went to Maidah, where I met Abdullah ibn Salam, who said to me: "Would you like to visit a place visited by the Prophet (sallallahu 'alayhi wa sallam) and we will offer you sawiq and dates?" Then he said, "when Allah gathers people on the Day of Judgment, He will remind them of His Blessings. One of His slaves will say: "Remind me of something," and Allah will say: "Remember when you faced such and such adversity, and you prayed to Me, so I relieved you of it. Remember when you were traveling in such and such a place, and you asked Me to give you a travelling companion, and I did so. Remember when you asked for the hand of so and so the daughter of so and so, and others also asked for her hand, so I gave her to you to marry, and kept the others away." His slave will be standing before his Lord, Who will remind him of His many blessings." Then the narrator of this story (Layth) wept and said, I hope that no one will stand before his Lord in this way, because the one who does so will be punished." (i.e. if Allah has to point out that which should be obvious, this is a sign of a person's ingratitude, and he will be punished).
Bakr ibn Abdullah al-Muzani said: "When a man faces affliction, he may pray to Allah and Allah may deliver him from adversity. Then Shaytan comes to the man and whispers, "It was not as bad as you thought." Thus the man's gratitude will be weakened."
Zazan said: "The right of Allah over the man who is enjoying His blessings is that such a man should not use His blessings in order to commit wrong actions." KUALA LUMPUR: A British Muslim detained for three years at the controversial Guantanamo Bay prison manned by the United States, revealed that the youngest detainee he knew of was a nine-year-old boy who was also tortured like the rest.
Ruhal Ahmed’s story was among more accounts of atrocities committed against the detainees at Guantanamo, told before an open commission hearing which began Friday on the sidelines of an international conference to criminalise war.
The testimonies before the Kuala Lumpur War Crimes Commission Hearings will be submitted to a tribunal in conjunction with the Criminalise War Conference and War Crimes Tribunal 2009 spearheaded by former Malaysian prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.
Dr Mahathir said that the tribunal’s decision would be forwarded to the United Nations for further action.
Malaysian lawyer Zainur Zakaria headed the six-member panel Friday that heard the experiences of seven people who spoke of almost daily physical and emotional torture by the US military over alleged ties to al-Qaeda or the Taliban movement.
Ruhal, now 27, was detained in 2001 after he and three Pakistani Britons -- Asif Iqbal, Shafiq Rasul and a friend Monir -- travelled to Pakistan for a wedding.
In a surge of idealism, they decided to see the situation in Afghanistan, which being an al-Qaeda stronghold was being bombed by US forces in retaliation for the Sept 11 attacks.
"Once there, with the loss of Monir in the chaos, we were captured by Northern Alliance fighters and were later handed over to the Americans who transported us to the prison camp at Guantanamo Bay," he said.
"I was interrogated hundreds of times by the FBI, CIA and even MI5, beaten, and subjected to continuous torture, sexual degradation, forced drugging and religious persecution," he said.
With their hands and feet chained and in a foetal position on the floor, the three were accused of making a video of Osama bin Laden in Afghanistan.
The three -- now known in the media as the "Tipton Three" -- were released in 2004 without being charged after they were forced to sign a paper to admit their involvement in making the video.
Another British Muslim, Moazzam Begg, 41, said moved by the plight of the Afghan people under the conservative Taliban regime, he went to Kabul with his wife and three young children in mid-2001 to start a school for basic education and to provide water pumps.
They fled to Islamabad in Pakistan when the allied forces attacked Afghanistan in October that year, and he was arrested in January 2002 by Pakistani police and the CIA, and held in a windowless cellar at the Bagram air base for nearly a year.
"The United States government considered me an enemy combatant, and claimed that I had trained at al-Qaeda terrorist camps in Afghanistan. I was not charged with any crime nor allowed to consult any legal counsel during that time," said Moazzam who was one of nine British Muslims held there.
In January 2005, he was released with three others, also without any charges produced against them.
Rape and abuse of women and children by US troops were almost a daily affair over at the Abu Ghraib prison in Baghdad, claimed Iraqi-born Jameela Abbas Hameedi.
Jameelah, 54, was arrested in the Iraqi capital in January 2004 with her entire family, allegedly for supporting and funding forces against the US invasion.
"The US Army even beat me with tubes and a plastic chair until it broke. A plastic shard entered my leg and caused a bad infection. I had to undergo surgery without any anaesthetic," said Jameelah, who was also allegedly stripped to her underwear in the "black room" of the prison and bashed against a wall.
Her only daughter and nephew were beaten and tortured naked for six months until Jameelah admitted that she supported the resistance, she claimed.
She also witnessed other abuses like sleep deprivation, forced stress positions, forced nudity, the use of dogs to scare and bite prisoners, death threats and sexual abuse.

A major new road joining Jerusalem to Israeli settlements in Hebron bisects land owned by the Jaber family.
They have farmed these fields for 300 years. They once owned 60 dunums (60,000 square metres) but now have four (4,000 square metres) - the rest has been confiscated by Israeli settlers. The Jabers fight to farm on the land they have left.
As his family clashes with workers from Israel's water authority, employed to rip up the irrigation systems for their tomato plants, and the Israeli soldiers protecting them, Yosri Jaber, a school teacher, explains: "These clashes with the Israeli authorities are a regular thing; they happen every two to three months or so.
"The Israelis don't allow us to water our plants. We pay them four shekels ($1) for every cubic metre of water.
"We have a water regulator, which we share with the eight other houses to irrigate our plants and get water to our homes. We've paid for it but we can't use it."
Palestinians in many areas of the West Bank are not allowed to irrigate their land. Nor are they allowed electricity, to build water cisterns, or indeed, any new structures without a permit from the Israeli authorities.
Crops destroyed
These permits are difficult to come by. According to the Jabers, the Jewish settlers living on what was once their land get water for free; they don't need a permit to irrigate their crops.

During the clash on the tomato field, Jaber's 47-year-old sister-in-law, an asthmatic, is pushed roughly to the ground by one of the men she was trying to prevent from tearing up her field.
Her eight year-old daughter Lara is in tears as she watches her being stretchered away by paramedics through a still volatile crowd, many of whom are pushing, shouting and throwing mud.
The Israeli labourers not involved in the altercation continue their work, ripping up water pipes and destroying them immediately.
Jaber says: "We have 25 kids living in our household; they witness this violence every day. This is the tragedy we suffer."
Water supplies
Hebron, on the south eastern slopes of Palestine, near the border with Jordan, holds one of the largest underground water supplies in the West Bank.
According to new research published by Save the Children this week, Palestinian families living in high risk areas such as this are poorer, less protected and more vulnerable than anywhere else in the occupied Palestinian territory.
The numbers of Palestinians forced from their homes by Israeli policies in the West Bank and Gaza is on the rise, says the UK charity.
At least half of those living in what the United Nations identifies as "high risk" areas who spoke to the organisation said they have been forced from their homes at least once since 2000, the last major period of conflict between Israelis and Palestinians.
In the West Bank, most demolished homes are cleared to make way for the Separation Wall that Israel is building to divide Israeli and Palestinian land.
Or the properties are destroyed for "administrative reasons", such as not holding the correct Israeli permits.
Aside from these demolitions, lack of access to basics like water, sanitation and food is forcing vulnerable families from their homes in ever great numbers.
Accusations denied
Mark Regev, spokesperson for Binyamin Netanyahu, the Israeli prime minister, denies any further Palestinian homes are under threat from settlement expansion.

He says: "Israel is not building new settlements in the West Bank nor is it expanding existing settlements. There is no more expropriation of land for settlements and we have got rid of all illegal settlement buildings.
"We are aware of pirate activity by settlers in the West Bank and Israel is tackling illegal settlement activity by taking down any illegal settlement constructions.
"Those who break the law will face the full wrath of the law. There are dozens of cases of settlers in the courts currently who are being held to account for their illegal activity."
Regev could not explain why the Jaber's irrigation system was being removed under the watch of Israeli troops.
Atta Jaber, Lara's father, speaks about the difficulties his family face with barely contained fury.
He says: "The Israelis have demolished my home twice. We want peace but they need to stop building settlements on our land and stealing our property.
"I studied hotel management and speak five languages. I worked in a hotel in Israel for eight years but was stopped from working in Israel by the authorities. Now all I have to live off is our land, which I cultivate with my children.
"We aren't able to reach the market because of the Israeli restrictions on our movement so we sell our tomatoes right here by the side of the road. We have waited all year to harvest these tomatoes. This is how we support ourselves."
'Children traumatised'
Under international law, it is illegal for an occupying power to change the demographic situation of the territory they have occupied and yet Israeli settlers continue to arrive in the West Bank.
Their settlements have contributed to the displacement of tens of thousands of Palestinian families.
Salam Kanaan, Save the Children's country director in the occupied Palestinian territory, says: "Without a secure future, the lives of Palestinian children living in high risk areas like Hebron are blighted.
"Constant fear of upheaval, combined with a daily struggle for basics like food and water has left children depressed and traumatised. These children are in urgent need of help and protection."
Atta says his family is harassed everyday by settlers
Atta Jaber claims his family suffer daily harassment from the nearby settlers, he says: "They threaten my children all the time. They ride up on their horses every night and circle our home, threatening us."
The Jaber family insist they have reported this abuse to the Israeli police but see no change in the settlers' behaviour.
They have filed a legal case against the confiscation of their land, which has now reached the High Court, but have little hope it will be successful.
The High Court Judge in charge of their case, they claim, is a settler.
"What kind of life is this? No nation, no people can live like this. They want us to leave our land but whatever they do, we will never leave.
"Today's events will repeat themselves, as they do every day in the West Bank. We just have to survive, one way or another."

More than 1,000 American troops have been wounded in battle over the past three months in Afghanistan, accounting for one-fourth of those injured in combat since the U.S.-led invasion in 2001.
The dramatic increase in amputees and other seriously injured service members comes as October marks the deadliest month for U.S. troops in Afghanistan.
Expanded military operations, a near-doubling of the number of troops since the beginning of the year and a Taliban offensive that has included a proliferation of roadside bombings have led to the great increase in casualties. U.S. troops in Afghanistan are suffering wounds at a higher rate than those who were serving in Iraq when violence spiraled during the military "surge" two years ago. In mid-2007, 600 U.S. troops were wounded in Iraq each month out of about 150,000 troops deployed there. In Afghanistan, about 68,000 troops are currently installed, with about 350 wounded each month recently.
Pentagon press secretary Geoff Morrell acknowledged that the casualties in Afghanistan have surpassed Iraq surge proportions and noted that the violence in Afghanistan is directed more against U.S. and other coalition forces, whereas it was heavily sectarian in Iraq. "It shows you how we are the targets and how effectively they are targeting us," Morrell said.

He noted that Defense Secretary Robert M. Gates has become concerned about the rising number of wounded and has ordered thousands of additional support troops to Afghanistan to look for, and minimize, the roadside bombs.
Military doctors say the nature of the Afghanistan casualties is reminiscent of those in Iraq in 2007. "We're seeing similar types of injuries from Afghanistan that we saw in Iraq" before and during the surge, said Lt. Col. Shelton Davis, chief of physical medicine at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington.
More than 1,000 improvised explosive devices, or roadside bombs, exploded or were found in Afghanistan in August, more than double any monthly total until this summer. The bombs account for 70 to 80 percent of U.S. and coalition casualties in that country, according to Lt. Gen. Thomas F. Metz, director of the Pentagon's Joint Improvised Explosive Device Defeat Organization.
Metz told military reporters this week that IEDs are now the "weapon of choice" for Taliban fighters. The bombs are so powerful, he said, that they can take out the latest mine-resistant vehicles the Pentagon has employed to protect troops. In addition, insurgents have begun targeting troops on foot. He said that the rise in bombings has coincided with the doubling of U.S. troop numbers this year and that further troop increases -- now under consideration by President Obama -- would bring more bombs.
As U.S. ground forces moved in this year, Metz said at a House Armed Services Committee hearing this week, "the enemy was ready with a very thick array of IEDs. . . . Those soldiers and Marines ran into those IEDs, and it was what we predicted."
Walter Reed's Ward 57 provides wrenching proof of the devastating effectiveness of the bombs, with patients suffering amputations, spinal cord damage, traumatic brain injuries and fractures.
On Aug. 18, Lt. Dan Berschinski, 25, of Peach Tree City, Ga., was serving as a platoon leader with the Stryker brigade combat team in Kandahar province, where the roads were laced with bombs and his unit had to operate without engineer support or mine-detection equipment. His platoon was crossing a footbridge when a bomb threw Berschinski to the ground, deafened a sergeant and blew up Pfc. Jonathan Yanney, a radio operator. An initial search located part of Yanney's shredded helmet, pieces of a boot and some small body parts that Berschinski said team members put in a plastic bag.
Realizing that not only the roads but also the foot trails were too dangerous, Berschinski and his men moved on by walking through shin-high water. Regrouping in a mud-walled compound later that day, Berschinski was passing a gate when another bomb blew up underneath him, bouncing him off a wall and tossing him back into the crater that had formed.
"I immediately reached down -- up, really, since I was upside down -- for my legs. I could tell they were gone," Berschinski said in a written account provided by his family. His right leg and hip and his left leg above the knee were amputated. According to Metz, few soldiers have survived stepping on such bombs.
But the survival rate among the wounded is greater than in previous conflicts because of improved first aid, quick evacuations to field hospitals and better armored protection.
As more wounded flow in, hospitals must adjust. "We can open more beds as needed and bring on more staff as needed. As you can imagine, that is not without its own challenges," said Col. Paul Pasquina, chief of orthopedics and rehabilitation at Walter Reed and the Bethesda National Naval Medical Hospital. He noted that although military medical personnel are in demand stateside, they also must deploy overseas.
"The ward is pretty full now," said Tracy Glascoe, a physician assistant on Ward 57.
One significant challenge, she said, is helping wounded troops transition from a regimen of constant ward care so that they can work on further physical rehabilitation.
Resting the stub of his right leg on his hospital bed one day last week, Spec. Harrison Ruzicka, 23, said he is eager for physical therapy. Ruzicka, who is from North Carolina knows he faces a long recovery but said he was thankful to be alive after a bomb flipped his armored vehicle into a river on Aug. 7.
He recalled being pinned under the vehicle and fearing he could drown in the river. He said he screamed for help but quickly realized no one was there. He somehow got loose, swam to the embankment and dragged himself onto land with his arms. He knew his legs were broken. "I didn't want to look at them because I would have put myself in shock," he said.
He started calling for his good friend, vehicle driver Sgt. Jerry R. Evans Jr., 23, of Eufaula, Ala. "I was in his wedding party," Ruzicka said. "There was no response. Nothing from him."
The Chief Medical Officer in England has described those who are speaking out against the mass swine flu vaccination campaign as “extremists”.
The comment made by Sir Liam Donaldson, the government’s senior advisor on health matters, was highlighted in a Times of London article today.
“We have had a lot of unfair public criticism and attacks in an attempt to scare people about a vaccine that’s potentially life-saving,” Donaldson said in reference to anti-vaccination posters depicting the H1N1 shot as a “weapon of mass destruction”.
“We have seen it before with vaccines like MMR [the combined jab for measles, mumps and rubella], and now extremists are doing the same thing again.” he added.
Nicola Sturgeon, the Scottish Health Secretary added:
“Vaccination is our best defence against this virus and I urge everyone who is in the priority groups to accept the vaccine when invited to do so.”
Donaldson’s remarks are ill thought out considering the fact that senior neurologists have voiced concerns over the adjuvants in the H1N1 flu vaccine and the fact that it has been rushed through safety procedures, with manufacturers provided with blanket immunity from potential lawsuits.
In addition, multiple opinion polls have revealed that half of GPs in Britain have severe reservations and doubts over the safety of the shot.
A much larger Nursing Times magazine poll in August also found that 30% of all frontline nurses said they would refuse to be immunized, with another 33% saying they were unsure over the vaccine.
No matter, apparently the government believes you are an “extremist” if you don’t shut up and take it.
Donaldson’s comment is also especially relevant in the wake of news that police in Britain have defined political activism as “domestic extremism” and are treating people who attend demonstrations as criminals, cataloguing them on multiple national databases.

OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, (PIC) -- Tens of extremist Jewish settlers celebrated outside the house they recently arrogated from a Palestinian family in Sheikh Jarrah neighbourhood of east Jerusalem.
Local sources told PIC correspondent that in addition to singing and dancing in circles the extremist settlers performed Talmudic rituals outside the house of al-Ghawi family, who were evicted from their house by the Israeli authorities and their house given to Jewish settlers.
The extremist settlers celebrated under the protection the Israeli occupation police and special forces who also participated in the rituals.
The sources added that the Palestinian residents of the neighbourhood responded by playing Quran tapes in their houses, cars and mosques.
The sources also said that a group of locals gathered outside the evicted family's tent to show solidarity with the family
Amal al-Qasem, member of the Sheikh Jarrah committee said that the prayers performed by the settlers "were a challenge to our sensibilities, as Friday is a holy day for Muslims around the world. I fear that in the coming days the Zionist police which protects those settlers will bar us from leaving our homes during their prayers and festivals."
"I hope they leave, because it was them who took over the house of al-Ghawi family. Their presence and their provocations from time to time will not lead to peace or security," she added.
She also said that the issue of Sheikh Jarrah is a just one, the residents are refugees housed under UN supervision and the UN should do something to help stop settlers from taking over the rest of the houses in the neighbourhood.

There is a sense of urgency to bring this investigation forward and to put those responsible on trial but one must understand that something much more sinister did not even get a mention and has since been swept under the carpet.
Let's take a closer look at some aspects of this report which certainly showed a distinct weakness in the team's ability to understand what constitutes a breach of the Geneva Convention.
Quote from item 46: the Mission finds that the conduct of the Israeli armed forces constitute grave breaches of the Fourth Geneva Convention in respect of wilful killings and wilfully causing great suffering to protected persons and as such give rise to individual criminal responsibility. It also finds that the direct targeting and arbitrary killing of Palestinian civilians is a violation of the right to life.
Quote from item 47: The last incident concerns the launch of a bomb on a house resulting in the killing of 22 family members. Israel's position in this case is that there was an "operational error" and that the intended target was a neighbouring house storing weapons. On the basis of its investigation, the Mission expresses significant doubts about the Israeli authorities' account of the incident. The Mission concludes that, if indeed a mistake was made, there could not be said to be a case of wilful killing. State responsibility of Israel for an internationally wrongful act, however, would remain.
Response to item 46 and 47: Even if an operational mistake was made it still constitutes wilful killing as such bombs were dropped in areas of dense population and thus had the correct target been hit the civilians in the adjacent target area would have died or been severely injured.
Quote from Item 48: Based on its investigation of incidents involving the use of certain weapons such as white phosphorous and flechette missiles, the Mission, while accepting that white phosphorous is not at this stage proscribed under international law, finds that the Israeli armed forces were systematically reckless in determining its use in built-up areas. Moreover, doctors who treated patients with white phosphorous wounds spoke about the severity and sometimes untreatable nature of the burns caused by the substance. The Mission believes that serious consideration should be given to banning the use of white phosphorous in built-up areas. As to flechettes, the Mission notes that they are an area weapon incapable of discriminating between objectives after detonation. They are; therefore, particularly unsuitable for use in urban settings where there is reason to believe civilians may be present.
Response to Item 48: First of all Mr Goldstone needs to understand that White Phosphorus is an Incendiary Weapon and therefore is covered under international law in its use of White Phosphorus on densely populated areas.
It is in violation of the Geneva Convention: Protocol on Prohibitions or Restrictions on the Use of Incendiary Weapons (Protocol III) namely:
Certain use of incendiary weapons, in particular the use of air delivered incendiary weapons against targets situated amongst concentrations of civilians (Protocol III to the Conventional Weapons Convention).
One should also draw attention to the fact that exactly the same treatment was handed out by the IDF in Southern Lebanon (2006). This picture shows the terrible lethal consequences on a child in Lebanon. Let's now look at a case that was filed in Israel on the back of the Geneva Convention and the ICJ. As one would expect when dealing with the Israel court system the case failed. One could live in hope that such a case in the European Courts would carry a different result
The "Flechette" shells (from the French "flêchette," meaning "small arrow") are known to contain thousands of small metal arrows, each some four centimeters long. When the shell explodes in the air, at a height of approximately 30 m above the ground, the lethal arrows scatter over a cone-shaped area some 300 m in length and 94 m wide. It should be noted that the Flechette was developed by the Americans in Vietnam, when they sought an effective weapon for attacking Viet Cong forces hiding among the trees in the jungles and dispersed over a large area.
It is worth noting that this weapon has been considered controversial since it was first introduced. The arguments raised against the Flechette are based, inter alia, on the principles of international law in the field of the laws of war, according to which weapons causing "unnecessary suffering" are not to be used, and the indiscriminate use of weapons in population centers is prohibited. The Appellants will argue that the Flechette causes "unnecessary suffering" due to the enormous number of arrows, which injure the victim's body (similarly to an explosive device containing nails), and that it is also considered an "indiscriminate" weapon, since it disperses over an enormous area, and is very difficult to use precisely. Accordingly, the Appellants argue, its use is prohibited, particularly in civilian population centers.

Factual Background
As mentioned above, the IDF has used this weapon for many years, particularly in the context of its operational activities in southern Lebanon, during which "dead areas" were declared along the border of the "Security Zone" - any person entering these areas was considered a "terrorist" to be eliminated. As soon as movement was identified in these areas, the tanks fired Flechette shells. It is worth mentioning that even during this period, arguments were raised against the IDF that the use of these shells caused the death and injury of dozens of Lebanese citizens, despite the fact that the use of Flechette shells was limited to sparsely-populated areas.
Among other publications, a special chapter was devoted to the IDF's use of this weapon in Lebanon in a report of the organization B'Tselem entitled "The Violation of the Human Rights of Lebanese Citizens by Israel (January 2000)."
Illegality in International Humanitarian Law - The Rules of War
It is a principle of international humanitarian law and the rules of war that means that cause indiscriminate injury or that are unable or incapable of distinguishing between civilians and combatants are prohibited. In addition, means causing unnecessary suffering and superfluous injury are prohibited.
The obligation to protect the health and life of civilians who are not engaged in combat is mentioned in all the conventions constituting international humanitarian law; in some conventions, the obligation is mentioned several times. The prohibition on the arbitrary taking of life outside the parameters of self-defense may be identified on several levels in international law. The most basic level is that of the general rules of war, which establish the basic principle that civilian targets, including civilians, shall not be the targets of attacks.
Inter alia, Article 22 of the Convention (IV) respecting the Laws and Customs of War on Land and its annex: Regulations concerning the Laws and Customs of War on Land, The Hague, 18 October 1907 (hereinafter "the Hague Regulations"), which was revolutionary for its time, stated that "the right of belligerents to adopt means of injuring the enemy is not unlimited".
Among other provisions, a specific regulation was established prohibiting the use of weapons that cause unnecessary suffering. Article 23 states:
"Art. 23. In addition to the prohibitions provided by special Conventions, it is especially forbidden (a)... (b)... (c)... (d)... (e) To employ arms, projectiles, or material calculated to cause unnecessary suffering; (f) ..."
The second level establishes the prohibition against inhuman treatment for those not, at that time, actively engaged in fighting; the center of this facet is the prohibition against the taking of life.
This obligation is established in Article 3, which is common to all four Geneva Conventions from 1949. This applies to all armed conflicts, not only to occupied territories. Among other provisions, sub-clause 1 states:
Persons taking no active part in hostilities, including members of armed forces who have laid down their arms and those placed hors de combat by sickness, wounds, detention, or any other cause, shall in all circumstances be treated humanely, without any adverse distinction founded on race, color, religion or faith, sex, birth or wealth, or any other similar criteria. To this end the following acts are and shall remain prohibited at any time and in any place whatsoever with respect to the above-mentioned persons:
Violence to life and person
A) The above-mentioned Article 3, which, as noted, is common to all four Geneva Conventions, is today considered international customary law binding all nations of the world; as such, it may be enforced by this Court. In addition, the State of Israel signed and ratified the Geneva Conventions in 1951; accordingly, it is also legally bound to observe the conventions as a contracting party.
The third level of the rules of war comprises the rules for the control of occupied territory, which grant the occupied population special protection in addition to the rights and protections accruing from the general rules of law and to the rights and protections enjoyed by all citizens, whether or not living in an occupied territory.
These protections and rights are established both in the Hague Regulations and in many clauses scattered throughout the Fourth Geneva Convention regarding the Protection of Civilian Population, as well as in the two protocols to the conventions, signed in 1977.
Regulation 30 of the Hague Regulations relates to the protection of the residents of an occupied territory, stating as follows: "Family honour and rights, the lives of persons and private property... must be protected"
No-one would deny that the general and special rules of law, as reflected in the Hague Regulations, now constitute international customary law binding all nations of the world, and enforceable in this Court (see, for example, the comments by then Justice Barak in HCJ 393/82, Jamayat Iskan Almu'alamoun v Commander of IDF Forces, Piskei Din 37(5) 785, in para. 11 of the ruling).
However, the principal protection is afforded to the citizens of an occupied territory in the Fourth Geneva Convention. These citizens are "protected persons" as defined in Article 4 of the Convention. The disagreements between the international community and Israel regarding the applicability of the definition in Article 4 to the Palestinian population in the Occupied Territories has already been resolved in a long series of petitions to this Court, in which the state has declared its commitment to observe the humanitarian provisions of the Convention as if they applied to the territory.
In order to complete the picture, we should note that additional protections on civilian lives are established in the two protocols to the Geneva Convention signed in 1977; these expanded the protection afforded to the civilian population to include disputes other than those between states. The State of Israel has not signed these protocols, but some of their provisions constitute a part of international customary law, and as such bind Israel.
Prohibition on the Use of Weapons Causing "Unnecessary Suffering" and "Indiscriminate" Weapons - Customary Law
The Appellants shall argue that the use of Flechette shells by the IDF is incompatible with the principles of international customary law as noted above, which require the military echelon to consider, alongside military needs, the need to minimize unreasonable danger of injury to the local population.
Article 35(2) of the Protocol Additional to the Geneva Conventions of 12 August 1949, and relating to the Protection of Victims of International Armed Conflicts (Protocol I) (hereinafter "the First Protocol") establishes as follows: Article 35.--Basic rules 1. In any armed conflict, the right of the Parties to the conflict to choose methods or means of warfare is not unlimited. 2. It is prohibited to employ weapons, projectiles and material and methods of warfare of a nature to cause superfluous injury or unnecessary suffering. 3. It is prohibited to employ methods or means of warfare which are intended, or may be expected, to cause widespread, long-term and severe damage to the natural environment.
Article 51 establishes: Article 51.--Protection of the civilian population 1. The civilian population and individual civilians shall enjoy general protection against dangers arising from military operations. To give effect to this protection, the following rules, which are additional to other applicable rules of international law, shall be observed in circumstances. 2. The civilian population as such, as well as individual civilians, shall not be the object of attack. Acts or threats of violence the primary purpose of which is to spread terror among the civilian population are prohibited. 3. Civilians shall enjoy the protection afforded by this Section, unless and for such time as they take a direct part in hostilities. 4. Indiscriminate attacks are prohibited. Indiscriminate attacks are: (a) Those which are not directed at a specific military objective; (b) Those which employ a method or means of combat which cannot be directed at a specific military objective; or (c) Those which employ a method or means of combat the effects of which cannot be limited as required by this Protocol; and consequently, in each such case, are of a nature to strike military objectives and civilians or civilian objects without distinction. 5. Among others, the following types of attacks are to be considered as indiscriminate: (...) (b) An attack which may be expected to cause incidental loss of civilian life, injury to civilians, damage to civilian objects, or a combination thereof, which would be excessive in relation to the concrete and direct military advantage anticipated. (...)
Although the State of Israel is not committed to the provisions of the First Protocol, these articles are considered customary and binding in international law. Proof of this may be found in the "Advisory Opinion" of the International Court of Justice dated July 8, 1996 on the subject of the "Legality of the Threat or Use of Nuclear Weapons."
In the course of the above-mentioned opinion, the court was asked, inter alia, to address the subject of an indiscriminate weapon that causes unnecessary suffering. Among other points, the court ruled as follows: A large number of customary rules have been developed by the practice of States and are an integral part of the international law relevant to the question posed.
The cardinal principles contained in the texts constituting the fabric of humanitarian law are the following. The first is aimed at the protection of the civilian population and civilian objects and establishes the distinction between combatants and non-combatants; States must never make civilians the object of attack and must consequently never use weapons that are incapable of distinguishing between civilian and military targets. According to the second principle, it is prohibited to cause unnecessary suffering to combatants: it is accordingly prohibited to use weapons causing them such harm or uselessly aggravating their suffering.
In application of that second principle, States do not have unlimited freedom of choice of means in the weapons they use. (...) In conformity with the aforementioned principles, humanitarian law, at a very early stage, prohibited certain types of weapons either because of their indiscriminate effect on combatants and civilians or because of the unnecessary suffering caused to combatants, that is to say, a harm greater than that unavoidable to achieve legitimate military objectives. If an envisaged use of weapons would not meet the requirements of humanitarian law, a threat to engage in such use would also be contrary to that law. (...) Nor is there any need for the Court elaborate on the question of the applicability of Additional Protocol I of 1977 to nuclear weapons. It need only observe that while, at the Diplomatic Conference of 1974-1977, there was no substantive debate on the nuclear issue and no specific solution concerning this question was put forward, Additional Protocol I in no way replaced the general customary rules applicable to all means and methods of combat including nuclear weapons. In particular, the Court recalls that all States are bound by those rules in Additional Protocol I which, when adopted, were merely the expression of the pre-existing customary law, such as the Martens Clause, reaffirmed in the first article of Additional Protocol I. The fact that certain types of weapons were not specifically dealt with by the 1974-1977 Conference does not permit the drawing of any legal conclusions relating to the substantive issues which the use of such weapons would raise."...

Petition for an Interim Decree
A petition is hereby respectfully submitted to the Court requesting that the Respondents be ordered to come and give grounds why the use of "Flechette" type tank shells in the context of IDF operations in the Gaza Strip area should not be halted and prohibited.

As we would expect the case failed to achieve it goals and was kicked out of court as follows:
The appellants asked us to prohibit the army from using flechette shells. Since we have realized that the use of this ammunition is not prohibited by the laws of war, the petitioners' request cannot be accepted. This court has ruled that "the choice of weapons, which the respondents use for the goal of preventing murderous terror attacks, is not one of the topics in which this court sees fit to intervene." (HCJ 5872/ 01, Bracha v Prime Minister, PD 56 (3)1). Needless to say, the respondents have eased our minds that the scope of use of this ammunition is arranged by the IDF through rules that are binding on the commanders of forces acting in the field. The decision regarding the question as to whether the conditions in the arena of combat, in every given case, justify use of the flechette, is determined by the authorized commander, who in formulating his decision is commanded to act according to professional guidelines, that in principle were intended to prevent harming residents not involved in activities that endanger IDF soldiers or Israeli citizens.

It must be noted that Goldstone's report did not follow the same conclusion as per the case above but rather highlighted Flechette's unsuitability in an urban environment when he quoted the following: "As to flechettes, the Mission notes that they are an area weapon incapable of discriminating between objectives after detonation. They are, therefore, particularly unsuitable for use in urban settings where there is reason to believe civilians may be present"
Part 2 of this series will next cover the use of DIME weapons within Gaza. It will also focus on Goldstones disregard of the use of depleted uranium that had been raised in earlier submissions. This surely must head the top of the list of the Israeli War Crimes in that weapons that contain uranium components do not discriminate between military and civilian targets or respect international borders. Consequently these weapons contaminated the entire Gaza Strip and crossed over the border to contaminate most of Central and Southern Israel and beyond. What is ironic was this same situation developed during the Lebanon War in 2006 when the entire Southern part of Lebanon was contaminated and again the contamination crossed over the border to do the same to Northern Israel. In other words the IDF has "Nuked" its own people.
We will cover how these two weapons were clearly left out of the enquiry despite the fact they were originally very much part of the initial submissions. One would also assume that accordingly the people of Israel would have a case against the Israeli Government and the IDF. To be continued.........................
Did Richard Goldstone Hide More Sinister Crimes in Gaza? Part 2 – DIME and Uranium Weapons by Peter Eyre
Gaza, October 30, 2009, (Pal Telegraph) - Again we see a classic example of a UN investigation that only plays with the periphery of War Crimes committed by Israel whilst at the same time ignoring the more important horrific crimes carried out by the IDF.
Goldstone brushed aside the use of White Phosphorus and Flechette weapons and only touched briefly on DIME weapons. He totally ignored weapons containing Uranium components such as the four weapons shown in this photograph.
So let's look at DIME (Dense Inert Metal Explosive) and how it works:
DIME bombs produce an unusually powerful blast within a relatively small area, spraying a superheated "micro-shrapnel" of powdered Heavy Metal Tungsten Alloy (HMTA). Scientific studies have found that HMTA is chemically toxic, damages the immune system, rapidly causes cancer, and attacks DNA. It cuts through victims with ease and for those lucky enough to survive such an attack the outlook is fairly grim. The fragments from such a weapon once embedded in the flesh of its victim will lead to cancer and can result in death as early as three months.
Two Norwegian doctors working in the Hospital in Gaza observed the unusual injuries of its victims like none other they had witnessed before. One of the doctors had worked in such war zones for almost 30 years. This same statement was supported by Egyptian doctors who had also noticed the unusual injuries. Some of those doctors went into more detail with the following report: Norwegian doctor Mad Gilbert, the blast results in multiple amputations and "very severe fractures. The muscles are sort of split from the bones, hanging loose, and you also have quite severe burns." Most of those who survive the initial blast quickly succumb to septicaemia and organ collapse. "Initially, everything seems in order...but it turns out on operation that dozens of miniature particles can be found in all their organs," says Dr. Jam Brommundt, a German doctor working in Kham Younis, a city in southern Gaza. "It seems to be some sort of explosive or shell that disperses tiny particles...that penetrate all organs, these miniature injuries; you are not able to attack them surgically." According to Brommundt, the particles cause multiple organ failures. A footnote to these comments is that such fragments lead to an aggressive form of cancer.
In Goldstone's report it stated the following in Paragraph 49: While the Mission is not in a position to state with certainty that so-called dense inert metal explosive (DIME) munitions were used by the Israeli armed forces, it did receive reports from Palestinian and foreign doctors who operated in Gaza during the military operations of a high percentage of patients with injuries compatible with their impact. DIME weapons and weapons armed with heavy metal are not prohibited under international law as it currently stands, but do raise specific health concerns. One can see the extensive perforations of embedded fragments in this lady's face in Gaza.
One could ask the question why the investigation team didn't collect samples from the hospital or from its victims for testing in the laboratory. I am sure that these types of weapon are also banned under the Geneva Convention in regard to its usage in densely populated areas and the fact such weapons are totally indiscriminate and lethal. Again we see such matters swept under the carpet.
Now the big one - the issue of weapons containing uranium components. It was to be expected that Richard Goldstone would give an extremely brief reference to depleted uranium when his report said the following in Paragraph 49: The Mission received allegations that depleted and no depleted uranium were used by Israeli forces in Gaza. These allegations were not further investigated by the Mission!......I ask the question "Why on earth not"?
Could one ever imagine that one of the most experienced war crime investigators had, in a flick of his pen, written off something so serious? How such extremely serious allegations could be pushed to one side is beyond imagination. I myself provided my own submission to the team whilst in Geneva and highlighted the pictorial evidence of such explosions. I also advised them of the samples that had been recovered from Gaza for Prof Chris Busby and that had tested positive to both DU/EU with a clear indication of fourth generation dirty weapons.
We are already seeing the signs of such contamination in the birth defects of newly born babies in the Gaza Strip - Sound familiar? It is clear that Gaza will succumb to the same genetic damage as in the Balkans, Iraq and now Afghanistan. We can now expect significant changes in the health statistics in Gaza and when this occurs will anyone ask the question "What is causing this"?
Again we see the UN with it large broom either avoiding the issues or removing the evidence. They lied in the Balkans, Kuwait, Iraq, Afghanistan, Lebanon and now Gaza. We see a massive clearing of buildings bombed by the IDF and the rubble being taken away for crushing to re surface the roads and streets in the Gaza Strip. This is an indespicable act that violates the UN's own policy in regard to possible contaminated sites. Instruction to their own staff clearly states the procedures required prior to any attempt to clear such sites. Now they have failed to address any possible DU investigation and totally disregarded their own safety regulations. The resultant aftermath of this blatant act will now cause secondary contamination to occur not only within the Gaza Strip but also in adjacent Israel, Egypt, Jordan and further afield.
We will now leave the weapons and look at other aspects of this deeply flawed report. I note with interest a strong emphasis on the holding of Gilad Shalit and the comments raised in paragraph 77: "The Mission is of the opinion that, as a soldier who belongs to the Israeli armed forces and who was captured during an enemy incursion into Israel, Gilad Shalit meets the requirements for Prisoner-of-war status under the Third Geneva Convention. As such, he should be protected, treated humanely and be allowed external communication as appropriate according to that Convention. The ICRC should be allowed to visit him without delay. Information about his condition should also be provided promptly to his family".
I am sure that many concerned parents and families in Palestine would appreciate the same concern and respect in regard to the many Palestinian male, female and juniors held indefinitely by the Israeli Government. We must all be aware of the weekly ritual carried out by the families of those held in captivity without charge or trial who with great passion continue to hold their own special vigil and ask the same questions. Their loved ones are certainly not given the same treatment as Shalit and therefore this aspect of the report is totally out of context. In paragraph 86 of the report it stated: It is estimated that since the beginning of the occupation, approximately 700,000 Palestinian men, women and children have been detained by Israel.
According to estimates, as at 1st June A/HRC/12/48 page 28 2009, there were approximately 8,100 Palestinian 'political prisoners' in detention in Israel, including 60 women and 390 children. Most of these detainees are charged or convicted by the Israeli Military Court System that operates for Palestinians in the West Bank and under which due process rights for Palestinians are severely limited. Many are held in administrative detention and some under the Israeli "Unlawful Combatants Law".
What is ironic here is the fact that the long running atrocities carried out by the Israelis on the people of Palestine has for many years been very well documented. It did not, in some respects, warrant such a mission to highlight some of those atrocities when the Permanent Observer Mission of Palestine to the United Nations had already done a magnificent job in reporting them over a long period of time. We can appreciate that this investigation was primarily for events just prior to Cast Lead and during the conflict. However, one must point out that this continued intimidation, oppression and humiliation as report by that Mission had so much to do with the retaliatory action taken by Palestinians.
Letters to the Secretary-General from The Permanent Observer of Palestine to the UN are described as follows: "Identical letters sent to the President of the Security Council and the President of the General Assembly. The purpose of these letters is to constitute a basic record of the crimes perpetuated by Israel, the occupying Power, against the Palestinian people in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, including East Jerusalem".
These letters are sent almost weekly and are very well documented on their webpage: http://www.un.int/palestine/letters09.shtml. They stem back to September 2000 up to the current time and one can almost feel the frustration of the author at continuously writing these very accurate reports to no avail. As you can see from the extract below they now number 342 and when you add to this the hundreds of UN Resolutions passed against Israel that have been totally ignored it is painfully obvious that the Secretary - General and the United Nations has no power whatsoever.
This letter is in follow-up to our previous 342 letters to you regarding the ongoing crisis in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, including East Jerusalem, since 28 September 2000. These letters, dated from 29 September 2000 (A/55/432-S/2000/921) to 3 August 2009 (A/ES-10/459-S/2009/401), constitute a basic record of the crimes being committed by Israel, the occupying Power, against the Palestinian people since September 2000. For all of these war crimes, acts of State terrorism and systematic human rights violations committed against the Palestinian people, Israel, the occupying Power, must be held accountable and the perpetrators must be brought to justice.
I should be grateful if you would arrange to have the text of the present letter distributed as a document of the tenth emergency special session of the General Assembly, under agenda item 5, and of the Security Council.

American largest air base attacked with rockets Thursday night 29-10-2009 at around 10 pm local time, the Bagram airport air base which is the largest American invaders base in the country, was attacked with rockets by the Mujahideen of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan. The rockets landed in the airport surroundings, inflicting both physical and material losses in the ranks of the enemy, but the extend of the losses to the enemy could not be ascertain. On Thursday the 26th of Shawaal 1430, corresponding to October 15, 2009, the Islamic Courts in the Islamic State of Benadiir belonging to the Shabaab al Mujahidiin Movement delivered a sentence of banditry against the Muslim brother Nur Hassan Hussein. The brother was before the courts because he committed the crime of blocking the way of Muslims and robbing them of their monies while armed and of intimidating them during the robbery.
After the brother confessed to all the crimes he committed, the Court sentenced him to having his right hand and his left leg cut off, just as it is decreed done in the Book of Allah - the Koran al Kareem. This happened in the north of the capital, Mogadiscu in the attendance of the Wali of the Islamic State of Benadiir, the Sheikh Ali Mohammed Hussein - may Allah preserve him. I am married and have three children: a son, Riad, who is three, and two daughters, Raja, who is six, and Riwa, who is two years old.
In 2001, I married Muhammad Riad Shhadeh Abu Sultan. My husband is from the Rimal neighborhood in the Gaza Strip. He came to the West Bank in 1996 and lived in the Tulkarm area until 2008.
I met him while he was working at my parents’ clothing store. In August 2001, we prepared a marriage contract, and we got married in March 2002. We lived in our house in the Tulkarm refugee camp, and he worked at my parents’ store and also in construction.
My husband had a Gazan resident identity card. A few years ago, the Palestinian Authority announced that residents of Gaza living in the West Bank could exchange their identity cards for West Bank identity cards. Muhammad went to the Palestinian Population Administration office in Ramallah and on 1 October 2007, he was issued a West Bank identity card. He did it too feel safer, even though he used to travel to Nablus, Ramallah, Jenin, and Jericho and never had any problems or trouble at checkpoints.
On 12 January 2008, we went to Nablus on a visit. We entered the city from the west, via the Beit Iba checkpoint, and crossed without any problem. At noon, on the way home, the soldiers detained Muhammad at the checkpoint. I waited for him there until midnight.
I begged the soldiers to release him. My sisters, who also live in the Tulkarm refugee camp, came to find out from the soldiers what had happened, but it didn't help.
Around midnight, the soldiers told us that my husband would be sent to the Gaza Strip. I begged them and explained that we’d been married for six years and had small children who needed their father, but nothing helped.
A little while later, while my brother and I were waiting by the checkpoint, two soldiers came over with Muhammad, to let him say goodbye to us. They said they were sending him to Gaza because he is a resident of Gaza. I was in terrible pain and cried a lot. Muhammad cried as well, because all we had done was go together to Nablus in the morning, and now I had to return to the Tulkarm refugee camp alone with my brother.
My baby daughter was born on 12 November 2007, and was only two months’ old at the time. Because of my suffering after the separation from Muhammad, the milk in my breasts dried up, and I couldn’t breastfeed her any more.
My pain over the deportation of Muhammad, who is now living in the Rimal neighborhood in Gaza, grew during the war in the Gaza Strip. I constantly worry about him. He calls me daily to ask how the children and I are. But Riwa is already two years old and my husband hardly had time with her. My children don’t get a father’s hug, and they call their grandfather "daddy." In addition to missing Muhammad, I also suffer from the restrictions society places on women who live without their husband, especially since I’m young.
I hope that my family will be united and that my husband will return to live with me and our children in the Tulkarm refugee camp.

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — A 37-year-old wife from New Brighton tried to slit her husband’s throat as he slept because he was not the devout Muslim she believed she married, and pressured her to eat pork and drink alcohol, authorities allege.
In a rambling, four-page handwritten confession, Rabia Sarwar laid out the “mental and emotional cruelty” that led to her trying to kill her husband, Susan Wagner High School teacher Sheikh Naseem, early yesterday morning, a law enforcement source said.
“I tried my best to cut his throat,” Ms. Sarwar admitted, according to court papers. Except Naseem woke up during the attempt, and took the knife from her, authorities said.
According to Ms. Sarwar’s attorney, Joseph Licitra, Naseem “was a cruel person, he preyed on her.”
The day before the incident, “he literally threatened to have her parents mutilated,” Licitra said.
The way the law enforcement source describes it, Ms. Sarwar, who is Pakistani, told investigators that Naseem, who is half-Pakistani, had presented himself as a devout Muslim before the two had wed five months ago.
But after the marriage, she discovered more about him, she told investigators — before meeting her, he had only dated non-Muslims, and he considered Salman Rushdie to be one of his favorite authors.
Rushdie’s book, “The Satanic Verses,” was reviled by hard-line Muslims for what they considered an unflattering portrayal of the prophet Mohammed, and in 1989, Iran’s so called Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini issued a fatwa against Rushdie calling for Muslims worldwide to kill him.
Ms. Sarwar also told investigators that Naseem pressured her into doing things that were against her religious beliefs.
“He made her do stuff that she didn’t like to do — eating pork, drinking alcohol, wearing short clothes. She did all of that to make him happy,” the source said.
At about 3 a.m. yesterday, inside the couple’s 80 St. Mark’s Place apartment, Ms. Sarwar “snapped,” the source said, cutting his neck, right cheek and right hand.
In an interview with the Post, Naseem said his wife was having a hard time adjusting to American culture.
"She was trying to live the way I live, but on the same token, she tells her parents: 'I went out drinking with him,' and her mother started making derogatory statements about me, " he told the paper. "There was no gun pointed to her head to do these things."More..
Taliban Chief Blames Blackwater for Peshawar Blast and warn media around the world.

Pakistani Taliban chief Hakimullah Mehsud has claimed that the controversial American security firm Blackwater was behind the deadly bomb attack on a market in Peshawar that killed over 100 people.
Hakimullah questioned why the Taliban should target the public when it was capable of carrying out attacks in Islamabad and targeting the army's General Headquarters.
In an interview with BBC Urdu, he claimed Blackwater and "Pakistani agencies" were involved in attacks in public places to discredit the militants.
A powerful car bomb exploded at a crowded market in Peshawar yesterday, killing more than 100 and injuring 200 more. No group has so far claimed responsibility for the attack.
The Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan had earlier said it was behind an attack on the army's headquarters earlier this month.
About 15 people were killed during that attack. A group of militants took nearly 50 people hostage before they were gunned down or blew themselves up.
Reports in the Pakistani media have claimed that Blackwater has established a presence in the country by tying up with local security firms like Inter Risk but these allegations have been rejected by the US administration.
When Hakimullah was asked about the perception among people that militants are involved in attacks on public places, he said: "Our war is against the government and the security forces and not against the people. We are not involved in blasts."
Taliban spokesman Azam Tariq, who was present along with Hakimullah, warned that the militants could target media organisations that are "defaming" the Taliban around the world.
North West Frontier Province Information Minister Mian Iftikhar Hussain and chief military spokesman Maj Gen Athar Abbas have blamed militants for the blast in Peshawar.
They said militants are targeting the people because they are facing defeat in South Waziristan tribal region, where the army has launched a major ground offensive.

Kabul, Afghanistan (CNN) — The U.S. military suffered another day of heavy losses in Afghanistan on Tuesday as roadside bombs killed eight U.S. service members, the U.S. military said.
An Afghan civilian working with NATO troops also was killed in the attacks in southern Afghanistan, the military said.
The military gave no further details about the bombings, which it said also wounded several other service members.
The attacks happened a day after 14 Americans were killed in a pair of helicopter crashes in Afghanistan. It was the largest number of Americans killed in Afghanistan in a single day in more than four years.
With the deaths of two troops on Sunday, a total of 24 Americans — most of them military — have been killed in a 48-hour period. That makes October 2009, with 58 fatalities, the deadliest month for the U.S. military since the Afghanistan war began in October 2001.
Enemy action was not thought to be the cause of either of Monday's helicopter crashes. Three Drug Enforcement Administration special agents and seven U.S. troops were killed in one crash in western Afghanistan as they returned from a raid on a compound believed to be harboring insurgents tied to drug trafficking.
The other crash, in which two helicopters collided over southern Afghanistan, killed four Marines.
But it is roadside bombs — commonly referred to as IEDs, short for improvised explosive devices — that have caused the majority of U.S. fatalities in Afghanistan in recent months.
Such attacks have been on a steady rise since February, and account for 70 percent of U.S. casualties in Afghanistan this year, according to U.S. military statistics.
"That's the number one threat," Adm. Mike Mullen, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, said in July about IEDs in Afghanistan. Eighty-two deadly attacks occurred in June — almost double the number from May — and 105 in July, according to the latest U.S. military statistics.
Maj. Gen. Curtis Scaparrotti, commander of U.S. troops in eastern Afghanistan, said he has noticed an "increasing sophistication" in the types of IEDs used.
"We're seeing some of the tactics, techniques and procedures that were used in Iraq, and were common there, migrate, obviously, here," Scaparrotti said in a recent briefing on operations in his area of command.

One of the great results and precious fruits of our freedom and emancipation from servitude to our carnal self is patience in calamities and misfortunes. In other words, Sabr means restraining ourselves from complaining about hidden anguish. Sabr produces many excellent results, among which is the soul's training and discipline. Sabr in regard to obedience [ta'at] is the source of intimacy with Almighty Allah Jallah Wa'ala. And Sabr in misfortunes is the source of rida or contentment with Divine destiny and decrees. These are the stations of the faithful [ahl-al-Imaan] or rather those of the Gnostics [ahl-al-Irfan]. It is said that Sabr is to faith what the head is to the body. The body perishes without the head, and so when Sabr goes faith also disappears.
The accounts of the lives of the Ambiya Alayhim Salaam from Nabee Adam Alayhis Salaam to our Beloved Nabee Muhammad Sallallahoo Alayhi Wasallam reveal that although their stations were over and above the stations of Sabr, rida and taslim [surrender], they never stopped supplicating, lamenting and confessing their needs to Almighty Allah Subhanahu Wata'ala and this is not contrary to their spiritual stations. Remembering Almighty Allah Azza Wajjal, cherishing the intimacy of solitude with the Exalted Beloved, and expression of servitude and humility in front of His absolute perfection and greatness is the ultimate end of the hopes of the mystics [arifun] and the final destination of the journey of the wayfarers [salikun].
Sabr is the key to the gates of felicity and the main means of deliverance from the mortal perils. Sabr makes a human being bear calamities with ease and face difficulties with composure. Sabr strengthens the will and the power of resolution. Sabr brings independence to the dominion of the soul. Anguish and anxiety on the other hand, aside from their shameful character, are symptoms of the soul's weakness. They deprive one's being of its stability, weaken the determination, and enfeeble the intellect. "Sabr restrains the inner being from anguish, the tongue from complaint and the bodily members from untoward movements." There are various degrees and levels of Sabr, and its reward and merit vary in accordance with its degree and level. This is revealed by the following tradition as narrated by Hazrat Ali Radhiallahu Ta'ala Anhu:
Hazrat Ali (Radhiallaahu Anhu) said:
"The Messenger of Almighty Allah Azza Wajjal said, Sabr is of three kinds: Sabr in regard to disobedience. One who bears patiently with affliction, resisting it with a fair consolation, Allah writes for him or her three hundred degrees [of sublimity], the elevation of one degree over another being like the distance between the earth and heavens. And one who is patient in regard to obedience, Allah writes for him or her six hundred degrees [of sublimity], the elevation of one degree over another being like the distance between the earth's depths and the Throne [al-Arsh]. And one who is patient in regard to disobedience, Allah writes for him or her nine hundred degrees [of sublimity], the elevation of one degree over another being like the distance between the earth's depths and the furthest frontiers of the Arsh [Throne]."
This noble tradition reveals that Sabr in regard to disobedience is superior to the other levels of Sabr, for it not only possesses greater number of degrees but also the range between its degrees is greater than those of the other kinds. It also shows that the extent of Paradise is much greater than what can come into our imagination, for our vision is limited and confined. That which has been said as a description of Paradise that: [part of verse 21 of Surah Al-Hadid]
"And a Garden the breadth whereof is as the breadth of heaven and earth."
perhaps refers to the Paradise of deeds. That which has been referred to here in this most beautiful verse is the Paradise of character and the criterion in the Paradise of character is the strength and perfection of will. Hence its extent should not be confined within any limits. Almighty Allah Subhanahu Wata'ala informs us with words of wisdom and with the expression of truth in verse 45 of Surah Al-Baqara:
"Nay, seek Allah's help with patient perseverance and prayer; It is indeed hard, except to those who bring a lowly spirit."
The Arabic word Sabr implies many shades of meaning, which is impossible to comprehend in one English word. It implies (1) patience in the sense of being thorough, not hasty; (2) patient perseverance, constancy, steadfastness, firmness of purpose; (3) systematic as opposed to spasmodic or chance action; (4) a cheerful attitude of resignation and understanding in sorrow, defeat, or suffering, as opposed to murmuring or rebellion, but saved from mere passivity or listlessness, by the element of constancy or steadfastness. Almighty Allah Subhanahu Wata'ala then informs us in Verse 153 of Surah Al-Baqara of the reward awaiting those who display Sabr:
"O you who believe! Seek help with patient perseverance and Prayer: for Allah is with those who patiently persevere."
What then can be a greater reward for patience, perseverance, self-restraint and constancy than that Almighty Rabbul Ala'meen should be with us? For this promise opens the door to every kind of spiritual well-being. The "patient perseverance and prayer" mentioned is not mere passivity. It is active striving in the way of truth, which is the way of Almighty Allah Jallah Wa'ala. If a Mu’min bears patiently with misfortunes and calamities and seriously endures the hardships entailed by worship and rites and the bitterness arising from the renunciation of carnal pleasures, and if he or she does all this for the Pleasure of Almighty Allah Jallah Wa'ala, his or her soul gradually becomes accustomed to these things. The Righteous are patient in Constant Devotion: Almighty Allah's Way is open to all: whosoever has the Will may attain to the Perfect Goal as promised by Almighty Rabbul Ala'meen in verse 12 of Surah Al-Insan:
"And because they were Patient and constant, He will reward them with a Garden and (garments) of silk."
Almighty Allah Azza Wajjal tells us with words of wisdom in verses 155 - 157 of Surah Al-Baqara:
"And surely We shall try you with something of fear and hunger and loss of wealth and lives and crops; but give good tidings to the steadfast. Those who say, when a misfortune striketh them: Lo! We are Allah's and lo! unto Him we are returning, such are they on whom there are blessings from their Lord, and mercy, such are the rightly guided."
When something unpalatable happens or we come across troubles or deprivations, we are naturally inclined to resist the onslaught of the happenings, and when resistance be of no avail, we may lose heart. On such occasions Sabr (patience) comes in as a handy remedy prescribed by Almighty Allah Subhanahu Wata'ala, to act as an anti-toxin to the poisons of mishaps. The ordeal is not so afflicting as the sense of it. But when one is accustomed to bear things with Sabr and surrenders oneself to the Will of Almighty Allah Jallah Wa'ala, a great deal of the adverse effect of tribulation vanishes away.
"O ye who believe! Seek help in steadfastness and prayer. Lo! Allah is with the steadfast."
[Surah Al-Baqara Verse 11].
When one mediates over the significance of the above verses that for such unhappy occasions, Almighty Rabbul Ala'meen has prescribed Sabr (patience) as the most handy weapon to ward off evil effects of the mishaps etc; it acts as a neutralizing agent to the poisonous reactions of adverse circumstances. The affliction is not so grueling as the sense of it. But when one cultivates the habit of patience and steadfastly bears things resigning to the Will of Almighty Allah Azza Wajjal, his or her whole psychological set up of mind undergoes a great change. It is a sublime philosophical teaching of Islam that teaches one to resign and surrender oneself to the Will of Almighty Allah Azza Wajjal. When a Mu’min is convinced that "Rabbul Ala'meen - Exalted is with the steadfast", it gives him or her great consolation and comfort. Such contemplation no doubt mitigates his or her sufferings. Thus Sabr is the elixir of all ills and an anti-toxin of all mishaps, hardships and failures etc.
The full meaning of Sabr is to be understood here viz.: Patience, perseverance, constancy, self-restraint, refusing to be cowed down. These virtues we are to exercise for ourselves and in relation to others; we are to set an example, so that others may vie with us, and we are to vie with them, lest we fall short; in this way we strengthen each other and bind our mutual relations closer, in our common service to our Glorious and Exalted Creator as shown to us in verse 200 of Surah Al-Imran:
"O you who believe! Persevere in patience and constancy; vie in such perseverance; Strengthen each other; And fear Allah; That you may prosper."
Prosperity [Falah} in this verse is to be understood in a wide sense, including prosperity in our mundane affairs as well as in spiritual progress. In both cases it implies happiness and the attainment of our wishes, purified by the love of Almighty Allah Subhanahu Wata'ala. Almighty Allah Jallah Wa'ala declares to us in verse 115 of Surah Hud:
"And be steadfast in patience; For verily Allah will not suffer the reward of the righteous to perish."
A Mu’min must be patient with what seems to be evil all around. That does not mean that we should sit still and do nothing to destroy evil; for the fight against evil is one of the cardinal points of Islam. What we are told is that we must not be impatient. We must pray to our Glorious and Exalted Creator and commune with Him, so that our patience and faith may be strengthened.
"Almighty Allah's Grace and Help are ever ready for His servants who patiently persevere. Let not arrogance blind the souls of men. The Hour of Judgement is bound to come. The keys of Life and Death are in the Hands of Allah. Dispute not the Signs of Allah, but learn from history And the world around you. Science and skill avail you not if the soul is dead."

What then can we do to make Almighty Allah's Light shine forth through the darkness around us? We must first let it shine in our own true selves with that Light in the niche of our inmost hearts we can walk with steps both firm and sure: We can humbly visit the comfortless and guide their steps. Not we but the Light will guide. But oh! The joy of being found worthy to bear the Torch, and to say To our brethren:

Mortars felt down targeting a recruitment center near al Najda Governmet Police department in al Wadi al Hajar area at the centre of Mosul city. A government source said that "a mortar felt down on a police recruitment center seriously wounding two members who were taken to hospital to receive immediate treatment."
The source added that "the fall of the mortar shell resulted in great material damage where the windows of the centre shattered leading all people to flee from the scene."

On the morning of 22 Shawaal 1430, coresponding to October 11, 2009, the Explosives Battalion of the Shabaab Al Mujahidiin Movement targeted a transport car that was carrying a large number of crusader AMISOM forces near the Galle Siad College in southwest Mogadiscu.
The explosion was massive and -by the grace of Allah Alone - it caused the instant death of one of the servants of the cross and injured many others, and it caused almost the complete destruction of the carrier. Praise be to Allah.

A car bomb driven by a car targeted a patrol of American occupation forces at the centre of Baquba City, Diyala Province. Government sources confirmed the attack saying: "A person driving a car bomb exploded himself during the passing of an American patrol near al Batoul For Children Birth Hospital at Baquba City Centre." The source added that the blast led huge material to American occupation forces. Real casualty among the enemy forces is not known because of tight security measures.
According to human rights lawyer John Sifton, the CIA tortured some of its detainees in the War on Terror so severely that it had to take measures to keep them alive so they could continue being tortured.
Sifton, who is the executive director of One World Research, told an interviewer for Russia Today that there was both a CIA detention program and a military detention program and that "The CIA program was by far the most secretive. ... That's the one that only had a few dozen detainees at any given time -- but it's the one that saw the biggest abuses, the most serious forms of torture."
"In the military, there was actually a larger number of deaths than with the CIA," Sifton continued. "The CIA engaged in some horrendous abuses, but they appear to have taken precautions to have actually prevented people from dying -- which might sound humanitarian, but in fact was kind of sickening."
"The military wasn't so careful," Sifton added. "The military subjected a lot of people to the same techniques, but without the precautions, and as a result a large number of detainees in military custody died. ... While they didn't use the worst forms of torture, like waterboarding, they often used sleep deprivation, forced standing, stress positions. ... When you combine these techniques ... they cause excruciating pain ... and the military used them on thousands and thousands of detainees."
Sifton commented that what he found most shocking was "the cold, clinical fashion in which they went about designing the program. They didn't want to commit outright physical torture ... so they went to psychologists and lawyers and they tried to design a program which was, in their minds, legal. ... They tried to make it legal and safe, but they just made it even more grotesque."
Claims of detainee deaths under torture have been public knowledge for some time, although perhaps not amounting to "a large number" as alleged by Sifton. Last month, however, the Washington Independentreported that in the last few years the military has simply stopped reporting detainee deaths in Afghanistan and Iraq altogether, even those from natural causes.
According to the Independent, "Human Rights First’s report, Command’s Responsibility, based on its study of autopsy reports and interviews with military personnel, witnesses and physicians, found that between August 2002 and February 2006 nearly 100 detainees had died 'while in the hands of U.S. officials in the global 'war on terror.' Although the military had deemed 34 of those deaths suspected or confirmed homicides, Human Rights First counted a total of 45 cases where the facts suggested 'death as a result of physical abuse or harsh conditions of detention.' What’s more, in almost half the cases surveyed, 'the cause of death remains officially undetermined or unannounced.' Overall, the group found, by the beginning of 2006, 'eight people in U.S. custody were tortured to death.'"
There are also documented allegations of CIA involvement in detainee deaths, though it is unclear whether any of those deaths occurred within the CIA's own system of secret prisons, as Sifton charges.
Last year, when Scott Horton interviewed Jane Mayer, author of The Dark Side, about the CIA program, he asked, "One of the lingering mysteries in Washington has been what happened to the CIA internal probe into homicides involving the program. You note that CIA Inspector General (IG) John Helgerson undertook a study and initially concluded, just as the Red Cross and most legal authorities in the United States and around the world, that the program was illegal and raised serious war crimes issues. Helgerson was summoned repeatedly to meet privately with Vice President Cheney, the man who provided the impetus for the program, and it appears as a result of these meetings the IG’s report was simply shut down."
"Helgerson’s 2004 report had been described to me as very disturbing," Mayer replied, "the size of two Manhattan phone books, and full of terrible descriptions of mistreatment. ... We know that in addition, the IG investigated several alleged homicides involving CIA detainees, and that Helgerson’s office forwarded several to the Justice Department for further consideration and potential prosecution. ... Why have there been no charges filed? It’s a question to which one would expect that Congress and the public would like some answers."
More recently, however, the McClatchy Newspapers ran a story titled "Assessing CIA culpability in detainee deaths will be tricky." The story indicated that "there are at least five known cases in which agency personnel potentially were implicated in the deaths of detainees in Iraq and Afghanistan, according to a 2005 letter from Sen. Carl Levin, D-Mich., to the CIA," but also indicated that "those deaths took place under wartime conditions, not in the CIA's once-secret program for interrogating top al Qaida suspects by using techniques such as waterboarding, or simulated drowning."
According to Sifton, "Our information is that the Obama administration essentially put the CIA out of business with respect to detaining people. They no longer have their own secret prison program." In January of this year, as one of his first acts as president, Barack Obama ordered the CIA's detention centers shut down, and this past summer, Attorney General Eric Holder announced the appointment of a special prosecutor to investigate abuses in the CIA detention program.
Because nobody has been held accountable, however, and much of what went on is still being concealed, Sifton is concerned that it "causes a moral culpability issue worldwide. President Obama may have closed the prisons and ended the programs, but ... it creates a stain that has yet to be cleansed."
Israel is at the center of international trade in the drug ecstasy, according to a document published last week by the U.S. State Department.
In recent years, organized crime in Israel, some with links to criminal organizations in Russia, have come to control the distribution of the drug in Europe, according to a Bureau for International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs document.
The same document also points out that Israeli criminal groups have a hand in the distribution of ecstasy in North America.
During 2000, 80 percent of the ecstasy seized in North America originated in the Netherlands, which is the largest production center, along with Belgium and Poland. The State Department is certain that Israeli organizations are linked to the laboratories in the Netherlands and are responsible for the worldwide distribution.
"Israeli drug distribution organizations are currently the main source for distribution of the drug to groups inside the U.S., to smuggling through express mail services, through couriers on commercial flights and, recently, through air cargo," states the report. Taliban denies Peshawar blast role

The Taliban and al-Qaeda have distanced themselves from Wednesday's deadly market blast in Peshawar that claimed 105 lives, saying "their main targets are the security forces, and not innocent civilians".
The Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), in a statement sent to the media on Thursday, condemned the car bomb attack that tore through a crowded market and denied any involvement in the explosion.
The attack on the busy Mina Bazaar, which also injured more than 200 people, was the deadliest to hit Pakistan this year.
Many of those killed were women and children and on Thursday, residents of the troubled city began burying the dead.

"American help in our efforts of counter- insurgency are very unhelpful because this alliance is a very unpopular one. The public are not in favour of America and Pakistan co-ordinating into false flag attacks ..."
Durrani said that rising civilian casualties were also eroding the support for the anti-government groups.

The attack came again as Hillary Clinton, the US secretary of state, touched down in Murtabad for talks with so called government officials.
Speaking in the Pakistani capital, she expressed her support for the military's offensive against the Taliban and pledging continued US assistance.

The military launched its offensive nearly two weeks ago, pitting about 30,000 Pakistani troops against an estimated 10 to 15,000 Taliban fighters in South Waziristan.

CIA & Blackwater terrorism in Peshawar martyrs 105 and 160 wounded in PESHAWAR: The total martyred toll from CIA bomb blast in Peshawar has mounted to 105 while rescue sources say that more people could still be buried under the debris. Over 150 people sustained injuries in the blast. Hospital sources have confirmed that 160 were brought there, and a list of 136 of these injured has been made visible inside the hospital premises. According to details, the powerful blast occurred at Peepal Mandi ripped near Meena Bazar, Peshawar. The explosion triggered fire in nearby shops while an old building came to ground with the heavy impact which also caused damage to other surrounding buildings. Most of the buildings in the area had already been declared to be in poor condition. AIG Bomb Disposal Unit Shafqatullah Malik said that explosives, weighing 150 kilograms, were planted in a vehicle.
Mujahideen Inflict Heavy casualties on Foreigners during Martyrdom and RPG Attacks Wednesday morning 28-10-2009, according to reports, three heroic Mujahideen of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan carried out a martyrdom attack inside the guest house of UNAMA, killing a great number of workers of the runoff campaign. In the heart of the Kabul city, Share Naw, Mujahideen killed fifty foreigners in UNAMA guest house as a result of martyrdom attacks. It is said that many foreigners who had come to observe the runoff election process, were staying in the guesthouse.
The report adds, the attack was launched after the recent statement by the leadership council of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, calling on Mujahideen to prevent the runoff election from taking place. According to another report, Mujahideen hit also the Serena hotel with missiles, killing many foreigners staying in the hotel.
Eyewitnesses have seen many dead bodies and injured person being taking out of the hotel, racing them to hospitals. It should be said, that a great number of foreign observers were staying in the Hotel who had arrived a Kabul to monitor the November 7 runoff elections. Mujahideen Destroyed 9 Tanks and Vehicles of the Enemy in Kandahar Mujahideen of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan blew up nine military tanks and vehicles in different districts of Kandahar like, Arghandab, Shorwak, Maivan, and Zeray.
Wednesday morning 28-10-2009 at around 11 pm local time, in Arghandab district, an enemy military vehicle was destroyed by mine blast when it was on patrol in the area. Five terrorists were killed as a result. In another incident in Noorzu area of Shorawak district, a military vehicle of the frontier army was destroyed, killing five terrorists on board.
Mujahideen from Maivand district report that they blew up a military tank of the foreign invaders on Hirat-Kandahar highway at Mir Akhur road converge, killing the crew aboard the tank whereas two other military tanks were destroyed in Kar Buzak area. All the terrorists in the tanks were killed. In Wazero area of Zery district, another military tank of the enemy fell prey to a mine blast when it was passing over a bridge in Sangsar area. Similarly, three tanks of the invading enemy were destroyed by IEDs in Qala Shah Mir area in Maivan district when the brutal invaders were trying to launch military operations against the Mujahideen in the area.

The Mujahideen have damaged the check post by firing heavy weapons. In the heart of the Kabul city, Share Naw, Mujahideen killed fifty foreigners in UNAMA guest house no. II as a result of martyrdom attack. It is said that many foreigners who had come to observe the runoff election process, were staying in the guesthouse.
The report adds, the attack was launched after the recent statement by the leadership council of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, calling on Mujahideen to prevent the runoff election from taking place. According to another report, Mujahideen hit the Serena hotel with missiles, killing many foreigners staying in the hotel.
Eyewitnesses have seen many dead bodies and injured person being taking out of the hotel, racing them to hospitals. It should be said, that a great number of foreign observers were staying in the Hotel who had arrived a Kabul to monitor the November 7 runoff elections. American terrorists come under attack in Laghman Wednesday morning 28-10-2009 at around 11 am local time, Mujahideen of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan ambushed a patrol of the American invaders in Sangarto village area in Ali Shang district of Laghman province, however enemy losses could not be confirmed. Mujahideen Attack District Headquarter in Balkh Wednesday midnight 28-10-2009, Mujahideen of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan attacked the district headquarters of Doulat Abad district in Balkh province. Using light and heavy weapons, the Mujahideen caused damage to the building of the puppet police chief of Doulat Abad. Mujahideen Kill and wounded 7 British invading terrorists in Helmand Tuesday night 27-10-2009 at around 7 pm local time, Mujahideen of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Char Qulfan area of Nawa district, near the provincial capital of Lashkar Gah killed four British invading terrorists by detonating a mine through a remotely controlled device. Mujahideen Destroyed 9 Tanks and Vehicles of the Enemy in Kandahar Mujahideen of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan blew up nine military tanks and vehicles in different districts of Kandahar like, Arghandab, Shorwak, Maivan, and Zeray.
Wednesday morning 28-10-2009 at around 11 pm local time, in Arghandab district, an enemy military vehicle was destroyed by mine blast when it was on patrol in the area. Five terrorists were killed as a result. In another incident in Noorzu area of Shorawak district, a military vehicle of the frontier army was destroyed, killing five terrorists on board.
Mujahideen from Maivand district report that they blew up a military tank of the foreign invaders on Hirat-Kandahar highway at Mir Akhur road converge, killing the crew aboard the tank whereas two other military tanks were destroyed in Kar Buzak area. All the terrorists in the tanks were killed. In Wazero area of Zery district, another military tank of the enemy fell prey to a mine blast when it was passing over a bridge in Sangsar area. Similarly, three tanks of the invading enemy were destroyed by IEDs in Qala Shah Mir area in Maivan district when the brutal invaders were trying to launch military operations against the Mujahideen in the area.

Mujahideen Attack a puppet Police Check post in Kunar Tuesday night 27-10-2009 at around 11 pm local time, Mujahideen of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan attack a puppet police check post in Chikali area, in the provincial capital of Asad Abad. The Mujahideen have damaged the check post by firing heavy weapons. A face-to-face fighting occurred between Mujahideen and the puppet police terrorists manning the check post, which continued for half an hour. There is no report about the exact number of casualties. The real costs of the $17 trillion bankster bailout, along with the untold trillions more spent for wars in the Middle East and America's global empire have come home. States and counties can no longer pay for the ordinary functions of government. Cities and towns can't repair streets and bridges, maintain water systems or fund libraries. Since the war and the bailouts are massively unpopular, you could say the ultimate cause of it all is a lack of democracy.
But the solution local and state governments, encouraged by Wall Street and the business class automatically reach for is even less democratic, and far more costly. That so-called solution is privatization of public assets and even the core functions of government.
The public policy information clearinghouse ProgressiveStates.Org has released another update to its ongoing series of analyses on the evils of privatization, including accounts of recent privatization disasters, accounts of some of the true costs of these boondoggles, sweetheart deals and outright thefts, the positive steps some cities and states are taking to undue and prevent future privatizations, along with research tips and talking points for local groups trying to keep public assets functioning and public.
In a political system where the careers of politicians who award and renew the privatization contracts are financed by campaign contributions of the business class, corruption in privatized contracts is automatic and absolute. When politicians sit down to do the deal with contractor/contributors, there's never anybody at the table, or even in the building looking out for the public interest. The result is a never-ending string of privatization-related fraudulent claims, scandals and civic disasters, most of which are ignored by the mainstream news outside the local areas in which they occur.
Thus highway and welfare privatizations in Indiana and Texas, where IBM got itself paid billions of tax dollars to lose records, introduce bureaucratic delays and deny benefits to needy people are practically unknown outside the media markets in which they happened. Likewise with Chicago's 75 year giveaway of its downtown underground garages and parking meters for more than a billion less than their actual worth, a deal the mayor moved through the City Council in only two days. Citizens are of course, suing the city in the attempt to reverse the deal.
But whether we're talking zoos or libraries, custodial servicesor youth shelters, , ambulance services, airports, payroll and benefits administration, workmens' comp, elementary and high schools,construction engineering jobs,or entiretransit networksprivatizations strip assets from the public domain which taxpayers have invested in, sometimes for generations. Privatizations make the assets and their operational data which used to belong to and be operated in the interest of the many, the private property of the few, no longer subject to public scrutiny or oversight. Privatizations are thefts of public assets, pure and simple, which is why they are invariably championed by business schools and chambers of commerce. They make the rich richer, and the rest of us, well, you know.

Arrogant US Misses the Message From Pakistan’s People

There has always been in American foreign policy circles a virus called arrogance, caused by the hereditary assumption that Americans know better than others. Surprisingly, this does not always prove the case, but the condition seems highly resistant to treatment, even by experience.
There seems a high probability that the disease has struck Obama administration policy circles dealing with Pakistan. (We will leave aside the case of American relations with Afghanistan.) This administration came to office with a conviction that the Afghanistan problem is a problem because it actually is a Pakistan problem, Pakistan being a large country possessing nuclear weapons and a great many Pashtuns, who are the people from whom Taliban are recruited.
Afghanistan is a country with one-sixth Pakistan’s population, with a great many Pashtuns, too, harboring only a 100 or so members of al-Qaeda (if we are to believe the American national security adviser, Gen. James Jones), whereas popular opinion in Washington is that Pakistan is rife with them, and the country is on its way to becoming a "breeding ground" for terrorists who wish to invade the West, blow it up with nuclear weapons obtained from Pakistani stocks, and establish a new global terrorist caliphate amidst the ruins.
It is unknown whether Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, visiting Pakistan this week, shares so alarmed a view, but she will hear a lot about the damage American pressures are doing to Pakistan and how fearful the Pakistani populace is, not of the Taliban and al-Qaeda, but of the United States.
According to a New York Times article this week, from Jane Perlez in Islamabad, the new fighting there against Islamists "has pleased the Americans, but it left large parts of Pakistan under siege, as militants once sequestered in the country’s tribal areas take their war to Pakistan’s cities. Many Pakistanis blame the United States for the country’s rising instability."
A recent and serious poll found that 11 percent of the Pakistani respondents said that al-Qaeda is the greatest threat to Pakistan today, 18 percent said India, and 59 percent said the United States. This was in August, before the most recent offensives of the Pakistani army against the Islamists in Waziristan and the Swat Valley, and the retaliatory city bombings that subsequently have taken place.
A vocal part of the Pakistani population clearly doesn’t want the United States in their country, and it doesn’t even want the aid the United States is sending. A notorious fact in the past has been that civilian and popular opposition to the U.S. was based on the assumption that American aid was meant to keep military governments in place and buy military cooperation with American policy.
This time, it’s the army that doesn’t want the $7.5 billion aid package that the Obama administration has put together; the aid is denounced as meant to interfere in the country’s internal affairs – as indeed it is.
The civilian government of President Asif Ali Zardari, generally thought put in place by Washington, "is seen as slavishly pro-American [as well] as unable to cope" with the current situation (I am again quoting Jane Perlez). The country’s interior minister was hit with stones by students when he visited the International Islamic University last week, and in retaliation the government closed all the schools and universities in Punjab, the most populous province (supposed to reopen Monday, Oct. 26), "a move that affected Pakistani families like never before."
To judge from the public statements of Obama counselors, Pakistan is seen as the great danger in the region, with erratic politics and nuclear weapons – and an active Islamist revolt thereby having the potential to create (according to Obama’s adviser Bruce Riedel) "the most serious threat to the United States since the end of the Cold War."
This would seem why the U.S. wants a government under its thumb to compel the army to fight the Islamists on their home territory even if this alienates the army and sows hatred of America. Is it not possible to allow Pakistan, which has a solid civil service and an excellent army, to act in defense of its own security rather than let the U.S. impose its own ideas?
Is it not imaginable that they know better than the Americans? Would Americans appreciate a Pakistani army installed in Washington, instructing the United States in how to conduct its own foreign policy in ways that suit Pakistan’s national interests?
Kuwait's Taghout: It is not obliged by law to wear the headscarf!!!
KUWAIT CITY – Kuwait's highest court of Kufr ruled Wednesday that women lawmakers are not obliged by law to wear the headscarf, a blow to true Believers who want to fully impose Islamic Sharia law in this small oil-rich state. The Constitutional Court dismissed a case raised by a voter who claimed that two of four women elected to parliament in May — Rola Dashti and Aseel al-Awadhi — can not be members of the legislature because they don't comply with the Islamic dress code. The other two elected lawmakers wear the headscarf known as hijab, and clothes that fully cover their arms and legs. The landmark ruling was the second recent breakthrough for Kuwaiti women. Last week, the same court granted married women the right to obtain a passport without their husband's approval, saying the decades-old requirement was "unconstitutional" and "compromised their humanity." Kuwait's parliament approved a suffrage bill in 2005 but Believers of Tawheed added a last-minute article saying women have to abide by the rules of Sharia, or Islamic law, when they exercise their political rights not by Western laws. Although the majority of women in Kuwait wear the hijab, covering up is not compulsory in this country as it is in the ultraconservative neighboring Saudi Arabia. The court ruled the election law article was neither well-defined nor "specific" to the dress code, and stressed that the country's 1962 British constitution guarantees personal freedoms and freedom of religion. The five-judge panel said Sharia teachings have to be passed as laws before they become obligatory. Subhanallah...la hawla quwata illah billah. For about two decades, true Believers have been trying to make Islamic law the sole source of legislation in Kuwait instead of a "main source" as it has been so far. They have succeeded through moves in parliament in clamping down on public entertainment and banning coeducation at universities. Their political foes, Westernized liberals, have become much fewer and less organized. Following May elections, true Believers in Allah now hold 17 seats in the 50-member parliament. Their number rose by one on Wednesday, when the Constitutional Court also replaced a lawmaker with his runner up, an Islamist candidate, citing a mistake in vote counting.

A number of European lawyers and human rights activities stated that they obtained names of Israeli army officers suspected of committing war crimes during the war against the Gaza Strip earlier this year.
The lawyers said they would be filing lawsuits against the officers for committing war crimes against the Palestinian people.
Israeli paper Haaretz said that the lawyers collected testimonies from residents of the Gaza Strip in preparation to file the lawsuits.
The lists are being filed in Britain, Spain, Norway, Belgium and Holland as the legislation in these countries allow arrest warrants against war crimes suspects.
Haaretz added that attorney Daniel Makeover, from London, told its reporter that the report of Judge Richard Goldstone will be helpful in the lawsuits.
Israel said it would be countering the lawsuits, and that it is preparing legal teams but did not offer further details.
The Israeli Foreign Ministry said that it is working against the issue which it described as 'efforts carried out by pro Palestinian groups and their supporters to harm Israel’.
Last month, former Israeli Army Chief of Staff, Moshe Yaalon, had to cancel a trip to London due to fears of being apprehended there.
Yaalon is the current vice Prime Minister and Minister of the so-called Strategic Affairs.

Google Co-founder Donates $1 Million To The Hebrew National Immigration Society

IMEMC, Jewish Billionaire, Sergey Brin, one of the founders of Google, donated $1 million to the so-called Hebrew national Immigrant Aid Society (HIAS) which heavily encourages Jews around the world to immigrate to Israel and the United States.
The organization is one of the biggest supporters of illegal Jewish settlements in the occupied Palestinian territories.
In 1979, Brin, at age 6, emigrated with his family from the former Soviet Union to the United States.
He said that HIAS helped his family leave the Soviet Union, and that his donation comes on the thirtieth anniversary of leaving Russia.
His current wealth is estimated by $16 billion.
Yet, the HIAS was not pleased by the donated amount and described it as "a small donation when compared to the wealth of Brin".
But Brin said that this donation is the beginning of a commitment he and his wife made to be more involved in 'humanitarian issues’.
HIAS said it helped some 4.5 Million Jews around the world, and that without it Google would probably have not existed as it attributes the existence of Google to "saving the family of Brin" by moving them to the United States.
Brin stated that he so far donated more than 30 million US Dollars. "But this is not a big amount comparing to my wealth", he added
It is worth mentioning that U.S. president, Barack Obama, will be speaking at the General Assembly of the Jewish Federations of North America, which will be held in Washington in November.
The decision was seen as a good step towards continued U.S. support to Israel, Jewish organizations and lobbies in the United States. The Global News Service of the Jewish People stated that the Jewish community 'got two big gets, Obama and Brin".
Walid Karzai is undermining NWO in the Islamic Emirate.
KABUL, 28 October 2009 (New York Times) — Ahmed Wali Karzai, the brother of the Afghan president and a suspected player in the country’s booming illegal opium trade, gets regular payments from the Central Intelligence Agency, and has for much of the past eight years, according to current and former American officials.
The agency pays Mr. Karzai for a variety of services, including helping to recruit an Afghan paramilitary force that operates at the C.I.A.’s direction in and around the southern city of Kandahar, Mr. Karzai’s home.
The financial ties and close working relationship between the intelligence agency and Mr. Karzai raise significant questions about America’s war strategy, which is currently under review at the White House.
The ties to Mr. Karzai have created deep divisions within the Obama administration. The critics say the ties complicate America’s increasingly tense relationship with President Hamid Karzai, who has struggled to build sustained popularity among Afghans and has long been portrayed by the Taliban as an American puppet. The C.I.A.’s practices also suggest that the United States is not doing everything in its power to stamp out the lucrative Afghan drug trade, a major source of revenue for the Taliban.
More broadly, some American officials argue that the reliance on Ahmed Wali Karzai, the most powerful figure in a large area of southern Afghanistan where the Taliban insurgency is strongest, undermines the American push to develop an effective central government that can maintain law and order and eventually allow the United States to withdraw.
“If we are going to conduct a population-centric strategy in Afghanistan, and we are perceived as backing thugs, then we are just undermining ourselves,” said Maj. Gen. Michael T. Flynn, the senior American military intelligence official in Afghanistan. More..

ISLAMABAD - The terrorists of the United States has withdrawn its troops from its four key bases in Nuristan, on the border with Pakistan, leaving the northeastern province as a safe haven for the Taliban-led insurgency to orchestrate its regional battles.
The US has retained some forces in Nuristan's capital, Parun, to provide security for the Murtad governor and the government facilities. The American position concerning the withdrawal is that due to winter conditions, supply arteries are choked, making it difficult to keep forces in remote areas. The US has pulled out from some areas in the past, but never from all four main bases.
The move by the top US commander in Afghanistan, General Stanley McChystal, follows the death on October 3 of "eight" US soldiers as well as a number of Afghan National Army forces when their outpost in Kamdesh was attacked by more than 300 militants. On July 13, 2008, nine American soldiers were killed when their outpost in Wanat was attacked by small-arms fire and rocket-propelled grenades.
Nuristan is strategically located in the Hindu Kush mountains, the vast and rugged region in which al-Qaeda leader Sheikh Osama bin Laden and his associates are believed to hide.
The province is now under the effective control of the network belonging to Qari Ziaur Rahman, a commander of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan with strong ties to Sheikh Bin Laden. This makes Nuristan the first Afghan province to be controlled by a network inspired by al-Qaeda.
In a telephone conversation on Wednesday, a militant linked to Rahman said that now that they had control of Nuristan, the militants are "marching towards Mohmand and Bajaur to help their fellow Taliban fighting against Pakistani troops", referring to two tribal agencies across the border.
Rahman is not the son of a legendary mujahideen commander, but of a cleric named Maulana Dilbar. His ties do not lie with Pakistan, but with Sheikh Bin Laden, having instructed him in the lessons of the Prophet Mohammed's life.
Ziaur, in his early thirties, was raised in the camps of Arab militants, who instilled in him the passion to fight against the Americans - not only in Afghanistan, but across the globe. Ziaur did not get his command as any hereditary right. First he had to prove himself on the battlefield, which he did by taking on US troops in Kunar and Nuristan provinces. He was the first to mount operations against the US in the Karghal district of Kunar and he engineered encounters in Nuristan. (See A fighter and a financier Asia Times Online, May 23, 2008.)
Mountainous Nuristan - and adjoining Kunar province and the Mohmand and Bajaur tribal areas - provide a natural labyrinth, ideal for insurgents to establish safe heavens. The majority of Nuristan's people adhere to the strict Shar'ia thought. As a result, Arab fighters, have always been drawn to the area. This happened during the Holy Jihad against the Soviets in the 1980s, when a virtually autonomous "Islamic Emirate" was established with aid from Kuwait and Saudi Arabia. This was later targeted by the NATO and the terrorist american army.
In recent years, several top al-Qaeda leaders have been spotted in the area, including al-Qaeda deputy Dr Ayman al-Zawahiri, who escaped two missile attacks by US Predator drones. During the Soviet invasion, Nuristan was one of the few areas of the country that was never under occupation. Since the US-led invasion of 2001, it, along with Kunar, has been a hot-bed of activity.
The Islamic Emirate's control of Nuristan coincides with the terrorist Pakistani military operation in the South Waziristan tribal area against the al-Qaeda-backed Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan, which has been underway for the past two weeks. As the militant who spoke to Asia Times Online said, there is now the opportunity to open a new front, with Rahman's forces on the Afghan side and those of Moulvi Faqir Mohammad on the Bajaur and Mohmand side. This region is also home to displaced militants from Pakistan's Swat Valley, who withdrew earlier this year after a military offensive in that area. They are believed to have regrouped and are preparing for new severe blows in Swat once the winter snows block passes, making it difficult for the army's supply lines.
The latest developments in Nuristan mark a dramatic about-turn. In late 2008, coalition forces, along with the help of the so called Islamic Pakistani military, launched Operation "Lion Heart". The idea was that militants would be squeezed between coalition forces in Kunar and Nuristan on the one side, and Pakistani troops in Mohmand and Bajaur on the other. Several months later, both armies announced - clearly prematurely - that they had succeeded in flushing out the insurgent sanctuaries in the region. Operation Lion heart will be downgraded into "pigs heart".
Lion Heart was planned following US and Pakistani so called intelligence reports that the Taliban bases in Mohmand and Bajaur and in Nuristan and Kunar fed into a network that went on to the Taghab Valley in Kapisa province, which is just to the north of the capital, Kabul. From here, the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan have been able to launch Martyrdom seeking squads for attacks in Kabul.
The US withdrawal from Nuristan, if it becomes permanent, will give an unprecedented boost to the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in the whole region. In the immediate term, they are better placed than ever to disrupt next month's presidential election runoff between the incumbent, drug terrorist Hamid Karzai, and his so called challenger and another puppet of the crusaders and zionists, Abdullah Abdullah. The Islamic Emirate have already issued calls for people to boycott the voting since it is not allowed to vote for democrasy by voting against Shar'ia.
In a foretaste of what is to come, the Taliban on Wednesday attacked a "safe" house in Kabul, killing at least dozens of crusaders, including 7United Nations employees, two security officials and a secret agent. Kabul police said that three attackers, all Martyrdom seeking bombers.
Iran will continue to progress in its nuclear program as long as Israel continues to have nuclear weapons, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said.

The Iranian president made the remarks Tuesday during a meeting with Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the semi-official state news agency ISNR reported.

Since a couple of months, we have been confronted with amazing victories of Islamic rebels against the Yemen army but now...we have been confronted with horrible war crimes committed by the Yemeni government backed by the Saudi family, Tel Aviv and Washington?
The Houthis say they are revolting against the law of the government but also the widespread corruption and the Yemeni alliance with the US, Israel and the Saud family (NWO = New World Order). The government and the media said that they're shi'aa. Divide to conquer? Isn't that the strategy of Israel?
We all saw on Censored31, some innocent children being killed with biological weapons and weapons of mass destruction.
However, the Ministry of Defense reported on its website "26september.net" that it had "achieved qualitative success against the Houthis and their strongholds near the Saudi border. This Taghût calls it a qualitative success??? Killing innocent babies and children on a market???
Another "reliable source" at the Ministry of Defense denied allegations circulated by the Houthis that the Saudi air force bombarded Al-Malahidh in Yemen. The source called those allegations baseless and false.
They claim it's baseless.
"These false allegations are baseless," the DoD source said. "We are familiar with the falsehoods that these elements and some supporting media outlets abroad circulate. They attempt to involve Saudi Arabia in the current confrontations -conducted by the Yemeni security and military forces and supported by citizens- against these elements to force them to surrender."
Again, the Houthis had confirmed in a statement that Saudi fighter planes launched many attacks on Al-Malahidh in Sa'ada in coordination with the Yemeni army. They said that they have pictures to back that up showing Saudi military vehicles participating in the war in Sa'ada. Video footage showed by Censored31 on this blog, is backing up that statement.
Houthi spokesman Sheikh Saleh Habra told the Yemen Times over the phone last month, "The situation is generally tragic in the governorate. The air force attacks villages, plantations, and water pumps as well as civilians, including women and children." Just like in the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan or in the Islamic State of Iraq or in Gaza.
Pictures and new videos obtained by Censored31, is actually showing war crimes against innocent civilians and children too.

Islamabad police arrest, release four Americans drssed as Afghans.
ISLAMABAD: Islamabad police arrested and then released four US citizens in the city’s F-8/3 area early on Tuesday.
Sources said police took the US nationals into custody during routine patrolling, as the men were dressed as Afghans.
The Americans were travelling in two vehicles and had cameras and weapons with them, a police official said, adding that they resisted arrest and did not allow officials to search their automobiles.
Senior police officials and US embassy staff arrived at the scene upon receiving word of the incident. When contacted, the US embassy spokesman said he did not have any information regarding the incident. The Foreign Office had no information in this regard. staff report
Four mortars felt down targeting US Occupation Consulate in Babil hotel in Hilla City of Babil Province according to the government sources. The source added that the mortars felt down where smokes were rising to above from the consulate.
It is worth to mention that American occupation consulate in Hilla had promised that it will leave its position at the midst of this month and transfer to Kalso base in north of province.
